These feel delicate but not so much that they'll break if you look at them. They are light to hold but they have some heft in the middle and bottom which makes them stable on the table. The bowls and mugs are surprisingly decent in size and the plates, even the smaller plates, ended up being much larger than I had imagined based on the specs, which is good. Their color is true to the pics and pure white, and they're decorated with a subtle pattern which I didn't even notice first before buying. It's pretty minimal so if you're going for plain, this'll still work. Last but not least, these are packaged carefully. I was impressed by the amount of bubble wrap and cardboard which kept everything safe. I love modern art and this design fits my personality and decor perfectly! The bone china is exquisite and as a home chef, I wanted a solid white, yet elegant backdrop for the food I serve my guests. I don’t like doing dishes, so my new pattern had to be dishwasher safe, as well as be able to be used in the microwave. The product description says that “Orbit” was safe for both. However, when I put a bowl in the microwave to warm some leftovers, the metal around the rim started sparking and almost caught fire. When I immediately took it out, it was so hot that I burned the inside of my thumb! I would have easily given this set 5 stars, had this not happened. Wayfair and one other retailer are the only ones who list this set as “dishwasher and microwave safe.” The manufacturer and all others state that because of the metal trim, it is only “dishwasher and warm oven” safe. I still LOVE this set even though we’ve had to make adjustments when warning food. First, I’m reviewing the French Pearl groove White not the ice blue like it says here. I had the same set of Pfaltzgraff grapevine pattern dishware for over 30 years. I was ready for a change. I love these dishes. They’re heavy. The glazing is beautiful. And I love the little pedestal on the bowls. I didn’t get the mugs because I don’t need mugs. But this really elevates the appearance of my table… Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo yet. I’ll add one later.
