This microwave has quickly become one of my favorite appliance purchases. The size is perfect—large enough to handle everyday needs, but still sleek enough to fit seamlessly into my kitchen island. What makes it stand out most is the design. The black stainless steel paired with the champagne bronze accents feels luxurious and unique. It coordinates beautifully with the rest of my kitchen suite: the ZLINE refrigerator in black and bronze, my 48” Thor by Gordon Ramsay range, and the Thor dishwasher. Even though the appliances are from slightly different brands, the gold fixtures tie everything together in a cohesive, high-end look. I love that ZLINE included a black handle option in case I ever want to swap out the champagne bronze, although I honestly don’t see myself doing that since the brushed gold look is stunning. Installation was straightforward—it only required an outlet behind it, and I chose not to use a GFI outlet since the microwave is in my island without a sink nearby. The main reason I selected this model is because it doubles as a convection oven. It’s incredibly convenient to have a second oven in the kitchen for holidays or entertaining. The broil feature works well for crisping food, though I do wish there was an air fry setting. Preheating takes about 15 minutes, which I find a little slow, but the cooking results are excellent. It doesn’t have the push-button drawer feature some microwaves include, but that’s one less part to break down the road. Temperature is accurate. • Advice (as one does with any new range): Compare oven temp with separate oven thermometer • Audio alert such as the moment when the oven has reached the preheat temp and when bake time is reached, is faint compared to other ovens I have used. Please amplify the alert or allow the user to set the volume on alerts. Some folks may be harder of hearing than others. • Storage drawer is large enough to store unused oven racks as well as (separately acquired) broiler pans. • Warming center (a great feature) on cooktop passed the melted butter test (i.e. keeping butter in melted but not over-heated state) • Instead of two large burners in the front, the cooktop would be much more useful if one of the burners in the front could allow the user to select either a larger burner circumference or a smaller one. Sometimes, a smaller burner is the only one needed. (Tea for two, for example.) • Oven door projects into the room a bit more than I expected, but is not obtrusive for my galley kitchen. • The oven shuts off when the timer reaches the set time. The user should be the one who cancels the bake, not the oven, unless Bosch gives the user an option to shut off when the oven timer reaches the set time. I do not use the oven timer.. Elizabeth R.
