These work very well for preserving food. I have used them for vegetables, sliced meat , and a roast. They send you little plastic domes with the kit , I initially couldn't determine what these were for. After putting sliced roast beef with juices in it and the juice getting sucked up into the vacuum, did I realize the domes were to keep liquid from getting in the vacuum. The directions on how to set up and use the juicer were spot on. Even better, it was easy to clean. For real. I have a stand alone juicer which is bulky and I never use it because it's packed away in a back cupboard. This one is compact and easy to make a quick juice and clean up.
