This is such an upgrade from our 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. We purchased this Danby because our old a/c unit started blowing hot air. After checking to see if it needed draining, filter cleaning, checking the hose for blockages, etc., we realized it was likely not worth trying to get it repaired. We've bought Danby products before but never a/c units. So far, it's doing a great job. We have it set up in our living room, which counts as two rooms if we were to carpet it and so far, it's keeping the space nice and cool. We live in an apartment, so this works really well. The true test will be how it lasts during some of the summer's longer heat waves, but as we're experiencing mini heat waves right now (that last maybe 2-3 days), I'm happy to say that it's doing a decent job. Oh, and it's super quiet. Our other a/c unit that we have in the bedroom runs a lot louder than this one and is maybe only a year old. It made soft serve ice cream that I put in freezer to get it hard. It works nicely but ice cream is not hard till you put it in throw freezer. The ice cram scoop that came with it broke the first time I tried to use it. Luckily I had a nice scoop I use to make cookies with and it worked fine. It takes about 45 to minutes to make soft serve ice cream. There was no recipes for ice cream worth the machine , a real short comming. You have to figure out how much the machine can hold. I have had a single hose style before and it seemed to really make it humid. This one cools it nicely is quiet and doesn’t put off the humid air. It actually dehumidifies the camper and has a nice drain house I ran out the bottom. I also really like the swing feature to help move the air around in the camper. Being it’s summer I haven’t tried out the heater portion of this but excited to have an all in one unit.
