However, I was going for a pastel-light look these are considerably brighter—and more traditional Christmas colors. They are white plastic balls when they are off. On the technical side, you cannot connect strings. We had to run each string down to a power strip. Additionally, they are not dimmable. Since I was dealing with a broken light situation, these worked fine. I’m still hunting for a pastel set for next year. The residential stream generator only comes with the probe, no metal housing/ grill. Mr. Stan expects you to put the probe within your grout....so not sure how this would work down the road if you ever needed to service or replace this probe...rip out your grout? Also, you'd need to consider your spacing in your grout where you'd be placing this probe. Wish I knew ahead of ordering and then requesting replacement which arrived like the first, no housing/grill.
