We needed a tall but relatively slim bookcase. This fit the bill. Let me tell you a couple hints. Basically this is 3 units all screwed together. It works great and it makes assembly really easy. The directions to assemble show that you can construct this with some of the shelves offset from one another. It actually looks pretty nice and if I had a bit wider space I might have tried it.
