Named after this legendary woman, our iconic Scalamandré fern print celebrates her love of leafy botanicals, featuring various layered ferns and romanticized roots on top of a solid ground. This captivating oil on canvas painting, a powerful piece of Indian art, portrays a scene of daily labor with profound artistic depth. They are heavily burdened, carrying large bundles of freshly harvested water lilies, their delicate white blossoms providing a soft contrast to the dominant earthy green tones. The artist masterfully renders the figures with poignant realism, capturing the strain in their barefooted posture and the simple folds of their clothing.

The viewer is immersed in my glowing, dazzling world of color, light, dimension, and beauty. The effects are invigorating and enlightening and allow the viewer to pause and restore.

Dark Gray

Guest room number 13 was said to be haunted and any wallpaper adorning the walls kept falling down. In the end, it was decided to paint delicate floral patterns directly on the wall using a thin brush. Inspiration was drawn from an 18th-century wallpaper, located in one of the castle’s wardrobes. Recreating these painted walls as wallpaper feels like breathing new life into a work of art.

Ann was born in Enid, Oklahoma, and educated at the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Interior Design. She moved to San Diego in 1984, where she lives today with her husband and three children. While her artistic impression was constant throughout her life, her recent foray into the art world was developed over the past 15 years working as a volunteer art teacher for school children at the elementary level. During this time she also worked as the prop, costume, and backdrop designer for the elementary school’s performances and directed the art and talent shows for many years. Now coming full circle, Ann is once again involved in instructing new and aspiring artists on her painting methods. In her commitment to being a green artist, Ann is able to create unique paintings by using recycled materials, finding items of interest in her environment, and using every drop of paint to add dimension to her paintings.
