Use the Allen key that looks like a wine bottle opener! These chairs are beautiful, sturdy and very comfortable, but they take a few hours to put together. The first chair took me forever to assemble, but I used it as a learning experience. I learned that I could have saved myself a ton of time if I had used the provided allen key with the red top (looks like a wine bottle opener), instead of the conventional one that was also provided. I also learned that I needed help from someone else for a few stages in the process because it saves a lot of time. Things went a lot smoother and faster when I put together the second chair. One of the biggest selling points for me was the material. These chairs are made from high-density polyethylene, which is ideal for my location right by the ocean. The salt air here is brutal on most outdoor furniture, but this material gives me confidence that they’ll hold up well over time. They also claim to have UV stabilization, which I’m hoping means that they will resist fading and maintain their appearance and durability through our long, hot, sunny days. In terms of construction, these chairs are impressively sturdy. They feel solid and well-made, with a generous size that makes them very comfortable to sit in. The listed 360-pound weight capacity seems believable given how strong they feel. Assembly was straightforward overall, but I would recommend paying close attention when attaching the seat. One section is slightly slanted, and if you don’t notice it, you may have to go back and redo it like I did. Hopefully you can learn from my mistake. The chairs are good looking and the color is vibrant. They’re also easy to clean, which is a big plus for outdoor furniture. I loved the idea of this set, the two seats with the tabletop connecting them was ideal for my space. HDPE construction seemed comfortable to similar "Polywood" types of furniture at a reasonable price point. As I unpacked the box, I found that the furniture is "blow molded", so it's hollow on the inside, similar to children play house or playground equipment. It's not all bad, and I'm sure it's quite durable, but it's not what I was expecting. Returning was easy, but paying return shipping was tough to swallow given the misleading description.. Chris. NC.
