This is such a gorgeous lamp. It is tall and sturdy. The base is thick and made of quality metal. It is easy to assemble and easy to position the lighting to your desired position. It came with a packed light bulb which I really appreciated so I could turn it on right away. The bottom plate has a lot of weight to it so you dont have to worry about it tipping over. This is sometimes not depicted in the photos, so its important to read the description. A previous reviewer commented on the switch. FYI, this is located on the cord 13 from the base and may be problematic if you are tight on space and placing lamp in a corner. The lamp feels substantial and went together well after finagling the threads on the handle.
