Light: Philodendrons prefer bright indirect sunlight but can grow in lower light conditions. If your home doesn't have enough natural light, use LED grow lights for 8-10 hours a day as a supplement. New leaves may be smaller and colors may fade in low light conditions. Water: Water thoroughly after soil is almost dry, more often in the growing season and less frequently in winter. Test soil for dryness by picking up the plant. Water more often in warm or hot conditions. Temperature: Philodendrons love warm temperatures of 65-85F and benefits from air circulation. Keep away from cold drafts and hot temperatures over 90F. Humidity: Philodendrons can handle most household humidity levels but grow more rapidly with humidity above 60%. Increase humidity with pebble trays, grouping plants, or a cool mist humidifier. Fertilizer: Philodendrons benefit from regular fertilizing and should be fertilized with a weak solution of complete liquid fertilizer every two weeks during growing season. Do not fertilize during winter unless the plant is still growing.
