This range hood is high quality. I bought a cheaper version a few years ago for my old house. I liked it, but now that I have this I can see where the cheaper one was lacking. This range hood is thicker steel that wont dent as easily. The oil tray is steel, the baffle filters feel commercial grade, the large duct size really moves a lot of air. I am glad I spent the money. Its loud but quieter than the old one. Relatively quiet for the amount of air it moves. The instructions are good, mounting is easy and secure. The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. I never took it out of the box because after reading the installation booklet, I could find no instructions on how to install it in non-ducted fashion even though the product description said it could be installed without ducting. It showed "Option 1" (ducted) but no Option 2. While trying to research online for suggestions on how to install a nonducted unit, I found several complaints about the company's lack of customer service.
