We are used to cooking with stainless cookware and the only usable burner for cooking on lower heat is the simmer burner. The others are just too intense. The grates are really heavy duty. If this is the style or look you are going for they are fine. I kept them for my project because the shape and variety of lengths made them what I was looking for. However, they were a bit thinner than I expected and don’t feel as robust or substantial as I had hoped. They seem well made, it’s not like they are flimsy. The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet.
