Once upon I time I could sharpen my knifes to razor sharpness by hand. Decades later my hands are no longer steady enough to do that. I spent 10 minutes reading the instructions and then ten minutes getting two 8" knives sharper than I could do it by hand. After using it a few more times I'll be able to get a knife sharp in under a minute. Seriously, I think I'll be able to sharpen a knife as fast as a professional chef does with one of their sharpening rods. We love the clean lines, and size since we have narrow cabinet depth. The fan and lights work great. The knob for adjusting both of them has a learning curb, since it continues to rotate and doesn't come to a stop just keeps cycling thru and the knob has a bit of a wobble to it (came preinstalled). We just installed and it took us 4 to 5 hours, but we also had to retrofit a tad. Looking forward to seeing how it works with grease collecting and putting in dishwasher. Love that option feature!.
