The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. I had been eying a metallic backslash but was concerned that the kitchen would be too dark. I purchased the white vinyl tile to tie in with the white sink and I am so glad that I did. Its beautiful! Although I used liquid nails, I purchased the kit with edging so that if the tile sags down the road, the edging will keep it in place.
