I purchased this to replace an older vent hood that was still functional but looked dated. This unit was very easy to install and has a nice clean look that blends in well with my other appliances.. As far as the operation of the unit it is much quieter than my old unit and seems to do a much better job of pulling in all of the smoke and condensation compared to the older unit that I replaced. It is easy to keep clean and the light is well placed to allow for sufficient illumination of the cooking surface. I highly recommend this unit. It is a good value and a great product.. Davidl. I really love my new range hood! It arrived in perfect condition and is shiny and sleek. The lights are clear and bright and the fan is pretty quiet on all speeds. I had a handyman install it and only heard a few low mutterings to himself while installing it, but basically an uneventful installation that was vented through an existing roof vent. This hood is hardwired and was my preference because my old hood was also hardwired and I didn't want the additional expense to have an outlet installed. Broan has been around for a very long time and if I should ever need service or parts, it would not be problematic to obtain.
