I hope I will be able to edit this post and share pictures of the finished project next month! I absolutely adore these tiles. They’re stunning! The deep green color has the perfect level of character and variation it’s just perfect. I would have given it a 5-star rating, but the way they were packed was quite disappointing. Instead of using a piece of paper or something to separate the layers of tiles, they used this strange dried gluestrip. It probably would have been helpful, but it wasn’t applied to the highest ridge of the tiles, resulting in some scuff marks on the outer edges. I’m sure they won’t be noticeable to anyone else, but I notice EVERYTHING (it’s a curse). Overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase at this point prior to installation. The tiles are simply beautiful. I did receive one box of broken tiles, but Wayfair was fantastic. They sent me a replacement box right away and didn’t make me return the broken ones. Very happy with this tile for my shower niche. I ordered a sample first and it was accurate. I feel my end result looks less colorful than some of the online pictures (I used Baylee), but it is beautiful. One note - I first ordered 4 boxes, then my contractor said I needed more, so I ordered 2 more, and they were a different dye lot and noticably different in terms of the tint and texture. Well, after being delivered on a very big pallet in the rain, I struggled to get to this package, but all of that care in packing paid off. Not a single tile was broken. You can see the glaze edge lessen on the ends of the time, which gives it a hand made feel. The backside is pictured for those needing to see it for installation. This tile is beautiful, with a nice sheen and enough irregularity to catch the light and make it look expensive. However, 2/3 of the boxes I ordered came with broken tiles. I think broken tiles are more likely with this format because the grooves create weaknesses in the 14x14 sheets. Besides the breakage, the tile was easy to work with and regular enough that all the groves lined up without too much effort. I used it for my kitchen backsplash and am really pleased with the look. Adding more pics after I used a black sharpie on all the grout. Black grout is more like cement color. It made a huge difference to me. The other looked all washed out. I attached a couple pics of my backsplash to show the before and after of me professional sharpie touch-up. Backsplash is also from Wayfair. It will not be installed for a few weeks, so I can add that picture later. I bought this for a fireplace surround. I expected it to be a bit wider, but that was my issue. It clearly shows the size. Typical subway is a bit wider. I liked the bit of variation. I think it will look even better with the black grout I plan to use. The other is what I am planning for my backsplash. That will also be black grout and also from Wayfair. I do not know how they packed so much bubble wrap in the box. Not one tile arrived damaged. If it had, it would not have been for lack of trying. It is tile, so I can see how it could still get broken. I am happy it did not! I just placed my order for the remaining tiles. I had to order a box to really guage.
