They thought of everything. The lights are Solar, which attaches to the top of the umbrella. Don’t miss this, mine almost got thrown out with the trash, cause I didn’t realize the lights were Solar. Each individual light is professionally embedded, which turn on by way of a switch at the end of the umbrella, and provides just the right ambiance. Open, the umbrella covers a large rectangle table that seats 8, with room to spare around the edges. It comes with bags I filled with sand and securely holds the umbrella in place. I love this umbrella. It spreads out really far to cover a wide area. The fabric is sturdy and handles windy day well. The solar lights shine dimly so don't expect them to be extremely bright. The only thing I didn't care for was the direction were just photos with no word explanations and the base requires sand. It is a pretty small basse, so luckily I had a larger base to use with it..
