Many parts in the first couple of steps are located inside a box, inside the main part of the grill. I did not see them until I was further into the assembly. But overall, the assembly was fairly simple, and the directions were clear and easy. We just used our new grill for the first time this past weekend. So far so good. The installation was tough as the template supplied for the alignment of the screw holes on the back didn't really work. We had to modify the holes on the back. We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. The base cabinet was pretty beat up. Unfortunately I’ve come to expect this on large shipped items. Assembly was not so bad and the grill looks good from the front. This range hood is high quality. I bought a cheaper version a few years ago for my old house. I liked it, but now that I have this I can see where the cheaper one was lacking. This range hood is thicker steel that wont dent as easily. The oil tray is steel, the baffle filters feel commercial grade, the large duct size really moves a lot of air. I am glad I spent the money. Its loud but quieter than the old one. Relatively quiet for the amount of air it moves. The instructions are good, mounting is easy and secure. This was delivered super fast. It was packaged well. It was what we were looking for, and now that I’ve got it installed and used it a few times, I can say it works so well, and I love it. I knocked a star off because there are some frustrating (welding) stains on the stainless steel, and I got cut on a piece of sharp metal that was sticking out of it. Other than that, it’s a dream, and for the price, I don’t think we could have gotten even close with another option.
