This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is. The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. Love the way it turned out. It’s definitely a two person job. It was fairly simple assembly until you get to the roofing part. Putting on the metal roof was a challenge, but workable with two people- one on a ladder. The holes lined up exactly with all pieces, but a few times we had to maneuver them and adjust to line things up. We did line up all of the roofing pieces on the ground before beginning as shown in the instructions. Highly suggest that. After assembly, it didn’t not feel as sturdy as we wanted, so we mounted ours to 4 x 4’s and staked those into the ground with rebar. Feels sturdy now. We are very pleased with it.. Kellye.
