Galvalume - new galvanized steel, semi-sheen. No rust or color variation. Antique galvanized - antiqued steel, weathered, flat texture. No rust or color variation. The finish wears with time (can produce white rust with exposure to moisture), will continue to age with exposure, and may scratch (does have normal scratches from manufacturing).

We finished our basement and put this niche in the wall opposite the bottom of the stairs into the basement.
