I was shocked (though I obviously shouldn't have been) to see that the water and electrical hookups had moved completely, making the install much more complicated for me. On the other hand, the newer leveling procedure is much nicer. Of course, we're still just getting used to it, but I fully expect this new Benchmark version to last at least as long as the old "800" model did, and be just as easy to live with. (Full disclosure, the old one would still be running fine if "someone" hadn't taken a tumble on the open door!) So far, my only quibble (and it's a large one) is that the Delay Start button has been moved to ONLY the app and is no longer on the control panel. At least let it be part of your Favorites settings! So for that I highly recommend. However, it does have a few frustrating "features". The racks are difficult to use for a number of reasons. In the two months I've been using my machine, I still don't know the best way to load it. The top rack is OK (not great) but the bottom rack is bad. You can't put anything in the front half of the rack between the tines because everytime you push the rack in the dishes fall towards the back. I love having the flex tray at the top but the handle design is terrible and it is always coming loose. And on all the racks the tines that you can lay down never want to stay in place. The control panel has bright LED lights but the icons aren't lit up, which means at night when you want to use the machine you can't see the buttons because you're blinded by bright white light bars. Lastly, I put the machine online, which was handy for setting up washing cycles, but the other day it mysteriously disconnected from my phone and now I can't get the machine back online again.. Matt. I do like the sidekick pedestal washer for small loads and when I spill on an article of clothing that I want to wash immediately. One of the best features for me, so far, is the automatic detergent dispenser. There is also an automatic fabric softener dispenser, but you have the option to set that as a second detergent dispenser. This is a great option for us as we typically don't use a liquid fabric softener, but we do switch back and forth between two different detergents. The automatic dispensers are a game changer as we have teenagers that tend to use too much detergent. Huge capacity! Even though it is large capacity, I do not have an issue with reaching items in the bottom of the tub as I did with our last washer. That is a huge plus for me! There are a lot of preset cycles to choose from, or you can create your own through the settings menu. The cycle you set shows the time to complete and I find that it has been pretty accurate. The AI cycle is new to me, but a neat concept that I am exploring. The spin cycle did a great job on the towels, which cuts down on drying time. Little to no vibration during the spin cycle. Pretty Impressed! Using the LG ThinQ app, you can do even more customizations. A couple of fun ones are you can change the startup greeting screen (ours is currently a snowman) and tune that plays when a cycle is finished. You can also get an alert on your phone or watch through the app when the cycle is finished. The built-in faucet is perfect for treating stains or a quick rinse if you don't have a sink in your laundry room. Overall, we have been happy with this purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dishwasher looks very good. It’s very quiet. Cleans well. It has a container for rinse aid, however, we use a soap/rinse all in one tablet and didn’t fill the rinse aid. Set the rinse aid level distribution level to zero so that it would not remind us to fill it. We also have city soft water and didn’t need to fil the salt container. Recommend using Auto rather than the Normal cycle. Setting up the Home Connect was not smooth as I would have liked. Tried several troubleshooting methods to enable it (tried 2.4 and 5 ghz networks (not clear if the newer supports both networks for setup, currently using on 5 ghz with Home Connect). Finally, shut off and reset the circuit breaker and eventually I was able to get it on the network. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Bosch 800 series dishwasher. This one replaced a unit that we bought in 2013. This new dishwasher is a champ at cleaning the dishes and is extremely quiet. I love the adjustability of the top rack. The Crystal Dry function is remarkably better than standard drying of plastic items. Some changes were made between 2013 and 2026 and I don't love them all. The stainless finish on the handle and the front are quite resistant to fingerprints. I don't love that the door is more tightly sprung to close on its own. The light for "clean" on my panel does not light up after the cycle has been run. I do run the dishwasher at night and it may be that this feature times out by the time I open the dishwasher in the morning. The silverware rack is much smaller. Thankfully, our retailer gave us an additional basket to offset that issue. I miss the plastic handle on the lower rack. The wire pull feels cheap. I've looked for a part to purchase and haven't been successful. The middle rack is used for glasses and bowls at our house. The tines on the right side of the rack used to have the option of laying flat. Now they are fixed and don't allow our bowls to seat well. The middle and upper racks glide less smoothly than our previous model. Again, the dishwasher does a great job cleaning and drying the dishes. I should have looked more closely at the rack designs and may have attempted to put our old middle rack in the new machine at installation.. New Dishwasher. Wed Apr 08 2026
