First opening the box, it looked to be a major undertaking. However it was a simple job. Just a few notes : some of the pieces are heavy, especially the umbrella holder and might need a second person. The raising and lowering handle was a bit tedious to line up the hole. I would recommend bolting down the legs, I ended up putting lag bolts through the deck floor joists. That thing isn't moving! Overall a very large and solid umbrella, very happy with purchase.. The main center bulb was packaged so well that we almost threw it out by accident. I thought it might be difficult to adjust the umbrella, but it's been alright even with my small wrists. It’s awesome. I was skeptical at first, but… it’s incredibly easy to put together and super easy to open and close. I love the lights and the base is extremely sturdy. I filled it with 12 sand and 12 water so it weights about 350 pounds. I highly recommend this cantilever umbrella. I also love the way it’s adjustable up and down and also swivels left and right. This umbrella is absolutely huge—great coverage, but definitely something to consider if you have a smaller patio. It takes up more space than you might expect. It’s extremely durable and very heavy, which makes it feel sturdy and secure. One thing that isn’t obvious in the product images is that the base is also massive. As you can see in my photos, it has a large footprint, so you’ll want to plan your layout accordingly. That said, the quality is excellent. At the 300 price point, you truly get what you pay for. The only issue is that the upper canopy arrived with a small tear in it and we’re waiting on next steps from the manufacturer. Arlmont&Co is another name for Purple Leaf so when you receive the umbrella and it says Purple Leaf on the box and umbrella, don't think you received the wrong umbrella. Packed ok. Make sure to take out all foam packing material within the umbrella before opening up the umbrella once assembled to a base. I also purchase the Baird Metal in ground base as I did not want a huge base taking up space on my patio. This worked perfectly for me. After 300 lbs of concrete and 150 lbs of compacted soil the base is nuclear proof. The umbrella material is acceptable to me for the price. It isnt sunbrella material, that would cost a bit more and maybe I purchase one with that in the future, since the base supports about 25 different models of umbrella. One of the metal connecting rods was a little bent but nothing to compromise its integrity. I have a pretty windy back yard and this umbrella has withstood the wind thus far. It comes with a cover which is nice to use so the umbrella doesnt fade as fast if not in use. The tilt transition handle is a smooth operation and the 360 rotation works well also. I bought the 12’x12’ Size and it is awesome! It provides amazing shade on our sun drenched mountain back porch. It’s substantial, impressive and beautiful. I also purchased a compatible wheeled base, which I highly recommend if you think you’ll need it to be portable. The only issue is that the upper canopy arrived with a small tear in it and we’re waiting on next steps from the manufacturer.
