A power source is required for the booster pump, and a holding tank can be added to the system for high usage situations. Exactly what my city water needed (yes, it's that bad). I have been running this system for four months. Since the install is have had zero water quality issues, which used to happen a couple times a week. Be sure to get the spin down filter, it has saved me a few times when the town filled it's housing with sand. As far as numbers go, my TDS pre filter is in the 480s Vs post filter in the 190s..
