I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. These glossy ceramic wall tiles are super cute in person and arrived very well packaged. The tiles were heavily protected with multiple layers of packaging, and none of them were broken. We were really impressed with how secure everything was during shipping. Each box is fairly heavy, so just be prepared for that when handling them. We ordered the 12” x 24” size, and because the tiles are large, installation went fairly quickly in our bathroom. The finish looks beautiful, and everything feels high quality. So far, there are no cracks or issues, and they are very easy to clean. They also match really well with our shelves and overall bathroom design. For the price, this is an unbeatable deal. It’s affordable, stylish, and high quality. The glossy finish gives a clean, modern look, and we honestly have no complaints.
