I love that this bookshelf shipped in one box. It was heavy! It took me and my partner about 3 hours to assemble. All the instructions were not clear but we managed to get it done. Shelf seems pretty sturdy! It is also pretty tall so measure first. I have high ceilings and still have about 2 - 3 feet to the ceiling after placing my monitor on top. I wouldn’t say it is heavy duty made of the similar material from the 30 shelf I replaced. I love how it fits perfectly in the corner of my bedroom. There is plenty of storage space. The shelf comes with black tabs that you are supposed to use to cover the screws…. They don’t stick well and they are already starting to peel up. Not the easiest thing to install - after all, it's a blind corner. But once installed, it turned out great. Except that we can't slide it sideways as the stove sticks out too far that is beside our cling corner. But because the shelves easily lift out, we make it work. I agree the rod plates would be better if they were metal and not plastic. Pay close attention to the shaded edges in the pictures in the instruction book for the tower, you could easily overlook this important detail. This corner unit is fantastic! My only criticism is that the instructions are absolutely terrible! It took a lot of troubleshooting with my contractor to make it work. It also requires a very strong pull to open it. It closes back very quickly with little effort, but definitely takes some effort on the pull.
