We are in the middle of a large master bathroom renovation. I found this beautiful set and just fell in love with it. We wanted an alternative to installing an awning, and this umbrella fits the bill. We've had it for a couple weeks and so far we love it. It's easy to raise, lower, tilt, and swivel. Putting it together was pretty simple, but definitely requires two people so one can hold the umbrella/pole in place. Don't attach the feet if you're going to use a base because you attach it directly to the base instead. (We bought the Madeley Plastic Free Standing Umbrella Base, which uses water or sand. It does not come with a base, just criss-cross feet.) The pole and supports are stout. The umbrella does creak and move around a bit when it's windy, which I expected because physics. ;-) The material does a nice job of blocking the sun, and I love the teal color.. Gmh. This is exactly what I needed to get rid of the big ugly base on my umbrella. The holes for the umbrella base are tapped for M8 bolts. The outer holes work for 14 bolts. The base is powder coated dark grey with some metallic flakes. This comes with 16 lag screws that are about 2” long. I didn’t use these as they wouldn’t sink far enough into the support joists.. When I first installed the bathroom lighting (5-light vanity fixture), I used regular (standard bulb-shaped) bulbs. Looked attractive, but thought it would give off more brilliance.
