The rug arrived two days ahead of schedule, which I was glad to see. It rolled out easily, and lay flat immediately. There was no strong smell, such as sometimes happens with new rugs. A quick vacuum to remove some packing dust, and it was ready to go. I anchored it in place with backing and carpet tape, also from Wayfair. It has a nice deep pile that feels wonderful on my bare feet. It matches well with my furniture. It seems well-made, so I look for this to be a good investment that will last for a long time.. Laura. The contemporary design of this particular rug originated in the mountainous areas of Tibet and made from the wool of these rugs is provided by the local villagers. Tibetan rugs are mostly geometric and modern patterns with bold colors. The knot count per square inch for this rug is 200. The weaving technique is hand-tufted, which is a rug-making process where weavers insert yarn into the rug backing with a handheld tufting gun to push and pull the threads through a pre-woven grid foundation. In a tufted rug, the tops of the loops are sheared to expose the ends of the threads for a softer, plusher pile.
