Beautiful quality and perfect for a DIY standing desk I purchased this unfinished Acacia butcher block to use as the desktop for a standing desk build, and the final outcome is absolutely beautiful. Right out of the gate, the delivery was incredibly fast. The packaging was also fantastic—it was heavily protected and arrived in much better shape than other wood countertops I’ve purchased in the past. When I first lifted it, I noticed it was a bit lighter than I expected for solid wood. This is actually a huge positive; it tells me the manufacturer used a proper, thorough drying process, which means the wood is stable and much less likely to warp over time. The wood itself is extremely high quality. The block had one side with a perfectly formatted, gorgeous grain pattern, which I immediately chose as the top facing side for my desk. Since it comes unfinished, I applied my own oil and wax. As you can see in the photos I uploaded, the finish brought out the rich, natural colors of the Acacia perfectly. Specifically, there were several staples that were supposed to secure the back panel to vertical supports that missed the mark. Our quality tongue and groove is random length and end matched. You will receive a variety of board lengths from 18 to 72 inches shipped to your door. Not only will this selection of boards simplify staggering seams and reduce waste, you only have to trim boards to finish off corners and edges. Additionally, each board is end matched on both sides to allow for a fast and easy installation. The end matched pieces are very sturdy when fitted together, and this snug fit allows you to attach to studs when convenient, skipping a seam if needed. Each board is trimmed to remove major imperfections with no holes or flaws. Boards are reversible to reveal a traditional "V" groove or contemporary nickel gap look. We recommend ordering at least 5% over your needed square footage to account for any custom cuts. While pine is categorized as a softwood, it is strong, light weight, resistant to shrinking and swelling, and easily accepts and holds stains and paints. Pine wood offers a rustic look with natural feel that can be used for country, rustic, colonial and cottage styles. Beautiful, and this table is actually wood. Its 32 tall though, so we had to saw off the legs to make it 30, but it only took a few minutes to do and now its the perfect height for my chairs.
