Because it’s made of plastic, the gold finish has rubbed off from normal use, exposing a silvery base underneath. Now the head doesn’t match the rest of the faucet and is covered with blemishes. The only thing I'm not wild about, is the rubber mechanism on the pull down handle(for switching from regular stream to "shower" stream)which takes a bit more effort than typically necessary to operate.
