I have several seating areas and have ordered my share of umbrellas so i think i have a pretty good sense of comparison and quality. This umbrella is about one of the best I have gotten so far. The construction is far superior and the fabric is thick and blocks the strong sun. For the very first time the pole fits snug into my base (I used my own not the one the umbrella came with). Pricey but worth it! I searched and searched for flatware NOT MADE IN CHINA! It was very difficult! Most familiar names (and those that used to be associated with quality) are not made in America anymore. For example: Reed and Barton, Onida, Lenox, Micasa, Kate Spade. The quality of these aforementioned brands has decreased dramatically. I would have loved to buy American: yet, I only found one company aptly named Liberty.
