I did not purchase this to use as a desk. I needed a corner vanity and did not want to spend a lot of money. This was perfect for the budget and worked out great! The directions were very straightforward and easy to follow with the exception of the final step of placing the top shelving to the bottom base. The two sections in the corner as I show in the picture want to separate. This requires two people. I assembled this by myself and it took several hours. It is a great piece of furniture for a gaming desk or to use as a vanity. The light strip is a straight continuous wire and does not have an L shape to allow for the corner and sticks out. This TV stand has motion lights. It's in my grandson's room. This monitor mount is so nice! Very heavy duty and the lights are very cool. I made the mistake of not paying attention to the new monitor we bought for my son it does not have the 4 holes needed on the back to mount it to.
