Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing. Found the perfect installation product! I was looking to make an old fixture smart automated and this SkyPlug canopy kit allowed me do just that. The company has a SkyHome app that controls my light and best part was how easy it was to install the plug and canopy onto my fixture. After installing the outlet and plugging in my Eurofase fixture I realized how dirty the glass was. The Skyplug allowed me the ease of unplugging and cleaning my glass fixture on the ground and then quickly plugging it back into the ceiling. Where has this amazing invention been? You can use it with almost any hanging light! I think I might just install these in the whole house. It's lovely material, but the install was initially pretty (conceptually) tough. Screwed up with the adhesive and had to order another piece of this. The main thing that saved the final install was using a (cordless) nailer, which made it a lot easier. If you don't have one, recommend to borrow one from a friend (hopefully you already have one). If you don't use a nailer, try to find the least obtrusive finish nails / use a precision finish tool (not sure what it is called but it's a little thing you use with a hammer to push the nail heads deeper, but not so that you dent the moulding) to submerge the nail heads. When you paint this, also recommend to start with the little domes and really work around them so paint does not pool. Finish the rest of the paint job with swipes in parallel to the length of the 'board'. I ended up using four coats of paint...it was worth it. Your mileage may vary!
