They are not the easiest to cut, and we did end up hiring a contractor to finish the work... but they look gorgeous now that they are finally finished. Couldnt be happier with the finished look. These look amazing once we finally got them installed. It can be quite tricky to cut correctly, and it was frustrating enough for my husband that it took him years (and a contractor) to finally get them all put up. Be mindful also that you need to make sure they end at a perpendicular wall or door trim. We had originally planned on just doing our main living room, but had to buy extra to do the adjacent hallway because there wouldnt have been a clean way to transition into another type of moulding. BEWARE! This baseboard will cost you a fortune. The material itself at $57 per plank is one cost. The extra planks you’ll need to order to try for some color cohesion is another, and the extra you pay your installer to cut pieces (to remove unsightly dark splotches and variations) and jigsaw them together to appear cohesive is another. I was too far in to turn back but I will never be happy with what I ended up with. Meant to look special, looks sub builder-grade. I’d have been better off with plywood and a router. I understand it’s natural wood and poplar is known for its distinctive patterning. Unfortunately it just looks cheap. I can’t recommend it.
