It's worked in all kinds of weather from snow to rain to heat as well. The motion sensor seems to work as it should too but I just have it set to just come on when the sun goes down. Having just 1 doesn't really seem too ideal however and we don't have a sidewalk to light up either so we just have it at the step up to our front porch. We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was.
