heats up using the minimum water level, when heating water for a cup of hot tea. I was using a Pyrex glass measuring cup to heat one cup of water in the mornings in my microwave and it would take almost 5 minutes to begin boiling. I like my hot water fairy hot so really excited that now it takes a minute to two minutes at the most. This was a great purchase and priced very reasonable. This is my second one. My first one got so corroded from the very hard water here that I just couldn’t use it any longer. Was going to go with a less expensive one but you get what you pay for. The digital timer is great especially the “warm” setting. If the rest of my dinner isn’t ready I can leave the veggies keep warm in the steamer. However, the lid was cracked all around the knob.
