Cat tree is perfect height. The materials seem like they will hold up well. Be sure to read the instructions on starting at the top and working down. I had to take out a couple screws because I didn’t see that at first. It is fairly simple to put together. Even with the arthritis, I was able to tighten the screws sufficiently. It helps if you have someone help you with a couple areas but it can be done alone. Cats are unsure so far but I am spraying catnip on different parts, I am sure they will warm up to it. It is pretty heavy on the base so I don’t think I have any tipping worries. I have a very senior litty girl who is losing function in her back legs, so she really can't jump. Ordered this for her and she loves it. I've seen her scoot up and down the stairs with confidence. It was easy to put together (pay attention to the directions, you Must build it the way they suggest or you'll have to take it apart and start over). The only complaint I have is that the bed is not balanced and the first time she jumped in it it fell off the back. This was an immediate hit with my new cat -- a rescue who is having a hard time adjusting to her forever family and needed her own safe space. I put her bedding into the caves and she got in right away. Since the top pedestal doesn't sway or wobble, she isn't afraid to climb up there. Although I needed a magnifying glass and a lot of patience to decipher the instructions, which are just blurry diagrams, having pre-inserted screws in some of the pieces helped with the assembly. I cannot PRAISE this enough. This is a QUALITY product. IT took some intuitive thinking to get the last pieces assembled, and one of the threaded grooves OF COURSE did not hold the screw, but my contractor fixed this. I love this tower, and more importantly, all 3 of my cats love it as well! The gray part is SO soft and weirdly enough, I’ve caught two of my cats “grooming” it multiple times! Haha. The rope is secured nicely and isn’t painfully pokey or scratchy like some sisal rope towers can be. The picture is of my biggest cat, Freyja, (who also happens to be my youngest at only about 9 months old) who is already about 16” tall from floor to top of head when sitting, and weighs about 15 lbs, and as you can see, even though she hangs out of both entrances, she even fits in the little cubby part and loves going in there.
