This Nicholes is made of solid carbonized pinewood, a natural material with no harmful substances. Nice! And mostly easy install! I found the photo instructions a lot easier to follow. The only caution is to be sure to match the slat openings , (2) where the screws fit in, when assembling. I had to deconstruct 2 of the 4 because they were upside down and didnt match with the frame. I think this is well made and pretty well designed. It looks stylish and provides plenty of light to my indoor plants. I deducted a star for two reasons. First, the wires on the back aren't the right length for the unit. There should be three separate lengths to connect to each light without much extra. However there are two longs ones and a short one. This means the light in the middle has a bunch of extra wire which needs to be tied up to be hidden and maintain a clean appearance. Second, there is a giant warning sticker on the top shelf that is really hard to remove, which is too large to cover with a plant.
