The cover does seem to be vinyl and is technically machine washable, HOWEVER it leaks massively at the seams if any liquid gets on it, and Wayfair told us that the inside is not possible to clean by any method if anything leaks through. It's comfy and cute but not at all durable or cleanable. Horrible overpriced product for the purpose it's advertised to meet. Wayfair should not be selling this under its current description..
