This umbrella screws in and you must rotate the top to get the two connected. this makes it very sturdy but not as easy to take apart to store. This is one is the stand that doesn't require adding water / sand to achieve 80lb weight, and there two knobs to secure the umbrella, exactly what I am looking for. Very nice looking base. I love it. One note is - The base still require you have have good flat surface to put on, i.e. flat concrete or deck.
