These are 6"x2" Bejmat tiles (150x50x13mm). Bejmat are a particular style of rectangular Glazed Zellige tiles, with slabs cut before firing. I LOVE the look of this tile !!! I chose the pink & gray tile for my bathroom. See photo. The tile is 18x18 but looks like individual 9x9 because of the faux grout lines. The pink color is more like a raspberry rose pink (it’s on the darker side of pink). Some tiles look weathered, which I like, but not sure if that’s a defect or not. They are a matte texture, so not slippery in shower, but if you have soap on the bottom of your feet, it may get a little slippery. Downside is the maintenance, the white does get dirty quickly. I have to use BonAmi to get it really white again, especially neat the grout lines. I have small gray grout, so that doesn’t look dirty. I sourced this in Noir for a shower floor, and it came out beautifully. The basketweave pattern adds just the right amount of visual interest while still feeling classic and grounded. This tile is beautiful, with a nice sheen and enough irregularity to catch the light and make it look expensive. However, 2/3 of the boxes I ordered came with broken tiles. I think broken tiles are more likely with this format because the grooves create weaknesses in the 14x14 sheets. Besides the breakage, the tile was easy to work with and regular enough that all the groves lined up without too much effort. I used it for my kitchen backsplash and am really pleased with the look.
