Installed this color-changing bathroom fanlight recently and overall I’m really happy with it. Wayfair sent the wrong color since we wanted the matte black one, but support helped. The fan moves air well, the light is bright enough. Color modes are the fun bonus that makes the whole bathroom feel more modern. It’s great to have options… normal white light for getting ready, softer tones for nighttime, and color modes when you want a little vibe. That said, installation was a bit trickier than a standard fan because this unit has multiple functions (light fan color modes). We only had one existing electrical feed at the vent, and while the instructions said additional wiring was “optional,” we wanted to unlock the full potential so we ran an extra line to be able to control everything properly. The traditional round shaped light is wrapped in a broad black strip with a wood grain interior and a bright white shade. When it lights up, you can clearly see the wood grain color of the inner layer, like the forest at night.

We replaced an old fluorescent fixture with this LED fixture. Our house was built in 1939, but I'd date the the original fixture from the 1990s. This light is well-priced and, in turn, the "wood" does not look much like wood (photos attached). It is a cheap plastic imitation made to look like wood, and even less than the product photos suggest. I know this is a tradeoff for the price. It looks metallic (more gold than wood) when the light is on. Installation was simple enough, but please know that light is attached to the bracket upon arrival so you'll want to twist it off before installation. With our older wiring, we didn't have a green ground screw (existing wires were already grounded), so we capped the provided copper ground wire. The light it a very warm/yellow light -- not a natural/white sunny light -- and I don't know yet if this will feel like too little light. This is an upgrade from what we had -- a fluorescent light that took a few seconds to blink on to minimal visibility -- and is a good price. I still feel it's lacking, though, and that maybe it's worth spending 2x more for a fixture that feels more intentional, if that's in your budget.. Shannon. Denver, CO. Sat Jun 13 2026
