Mission Handcrafted tiffany stained glass ceiling light lampshade is slight heavy than you expected, as it is made of really 100% stained glass. But when you knock it, it sounds like plastic. That's why? Because of its special manufacturing process. Each glass piece is cut by hand, then polish the edge before wrapping the copper foil. The edges of the glass pieces are wrapped with adhesive copper tape (copper foil). Then putted together in a mould according to the pattern. At last, using soldering material to weld each glass at a very high temperature. The Stained glass is Much Heavy than Plastic, and couldn't been burned, normal knife couldn't cut them. Lamp arrived undamaged. Packaging was a mess! I had to take it to the laundry room to unbox because there were little pieces of styrofoam everywhere! Lamp comes in 3 different pieces. I had to giggle when i saw the gloves included. Easy to put together and the lamp is alot lighter than I thought it would be. From the picture on wayfair, the Lamp shade looked to be a tan color. My shade is like a dark charcoal color. When turned on it does look tan. So just know if you are matching this Lamp to a brown or tan theme in your house...it will be dark...almost black color when off. And maybe they come in 2 different colors and they sent me the black color. For me that is a win win because my livingroom is black and brown. The shade is lightweight but sturdy hard plastic.
