It’s basically a nice topper for firming up a foam mattress, or adding a hypoallergenic layer overtop something that’s not rated as being very “green”. We first tried this over a firm latex pad, and it did not add much noticeable improvement in thickness or softness. Next, we tried this down pad over a 2 inch thick foam pad, and it made all the difference! I am not at all a fan of foam pads. However, using this topper over the foam pad makes the foam less susceptible to sinking! Love it! it is a good quality of fabric and it is soft and "quiet". I don't like fabrics which make some noise when you move in it. It came nice packed. The only issue I have is that it is very little down inside that squares. the down move around and very often you have just two pieces of fabric. I didn't sleep under that cover yet, but I don't think it will be enough for the winter time. I give an update after I use it for a while. update after few months of sleeping: the cover is very warm and for summer month too hot but nice and warm in cooler month. I like it.. Eva.
