We first tried this over a firm latex pad, and it did not add much noticeable improvement in thickness or softness. Next, we tried this down pad over a 2 inch thick foam pad, and it made all the difference! I am not at all a fan of foam pads. However, using this topper over the foam pad makes the foam less susceptible to sinking! Love it! I was looking for a light weight down and this fit the bill. It was for a guest bedroom. Everyone sleep’s different, some cold and some hot.
