This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is. Purchased open box. Received cooler packaged horizontally. Fortunately, it works. No visible serial number on the external packaging. Also not a problem due to Wayfair, but reversing the door is nearly impossible and is still a work in progress. The small plastic filler/caps are extremely hard to remove. The caps breakoff leaving the filler in the threads. I only got 2 of the six out whole. I will need to somehow remove the plastic inserts without damaging the threads for the replacement screws.. I wanted a "girly" ceiling fan and light for my MBR, and this is the one I chose. Yes, the metal color is a bit brassy-pinkish -- some would say borderline tacky/campy -- but I like it for "glamming up" my bedroom. The crystals are beautiful and the 40 or so large, weighy spheres took about 45 minutes for me to attach after the elecrician removed the older fan and installed this one. The long crystals came pre-installed, with a couple extras included in case of breakage. The fan uses a remote and has 6 speeds, moving a surprisingly impressive amount of air. The LED lights have several different colors and brightnesses. The fan runs quietly and has no balance issues thus far (it's only been a week). The clear blades fold away neatly on top of the light fixture when the fan isn't being used. IF you are looking for an understated "elegant" fan/light, this might be over the top. So far so good. Install was relatively easy, but because of its size, having a few extra folks to help hold it in place would be a good idea. My wife and I managed, but it was a bit tricky for just us 2 folks to install and we almost gave up. The gesture control seems a bit finicky, and we can't get it to work reliably. Maybe with time we'll figure it out. The buttons work fine though, and the remote control is a nice touch. The stainless-steel finish, display, and led lights look great. Definitely an upgrade from the Broan powerpack it replaced. As far as noise, it seems to be as loud as our old Broan PM350 we replaced. The grates tend to vibrate a little, so that with the fan contributes to the noise. I was hoping for something quieter, but it's no worse than the unit it replaced, so not a deal breaker. As for airflow, it seems a bit stronger than the broan unit it replaced, which was rate for only 350cfm. This one is rated at 900cfm at max speed, but i don't have a way to measure/confirm that. The fan cage seems bigger, and it's been doing a good job so far of keeping the smells/vapors out of the kitchen while cooking. It still has that creepy cold LED glow that reminds me of the movie The Shining. I also didn’t like that. There is no pattern on the ceiling from the Crystal looking lampshade. That said, it was a great price, and I am going to move it to a room where I need a ceiling fan but not a light.
