I didn’t like seeing that through the glass so I used black stock card behind the glass doors and that did the trick. I am considering changing the knobs to something more primitive. I DO recommend the desk as long as you can accept the "CONS" I list. CONS; 1. IMPORTANT, The ledge is not wide enough to safely/securely place the stand of larger monitors. Unless you use a monitor arm I would not recommend this desk if you use anything above a 24" external monitor. 2. The 20" depth might be just a little too short if you are using a laptop with the lid open and an external monitor placed on the desk or ledge. 3. LEDs are not nearly as bright as pictures show. SO-SO The soft side drawers work but not something to brag about. I expected this so wasn't surprised. PROs I'm impressed at how sturdy it is for a light weight desk. Assembly was fairly straight forward as were the instructions that are pretty well written. Everything fit together well and assembly took less than 2 hours with two people. Finals thoughts. If you are using an external monitor I would suggest you consider NOT installing the ledge and use a monitor arm to get the most useable desk space. I did keep the ledge but might remove it later.. This monitor mount is so nice! Very heavy duty and the lights are very cool. I made the mistake of not paying attention to the new monitor we bought for my son it does not have the 4 holes needed on the back to mount it to.
