It's always recommended to break in a new mattress, and I think this is the perfect example. For about a week and a half there is a real firmness to it. It's not rock hard, but also not as soft as advertised. Not yet. As you sleep each night and naturally adjust your sleeping position the mattress softens and conforms to your shape. When you get up it returns to its flat form, and when you lie back down it molds to fit you without feeling like you're sinking in. From the purchase through delivery to sleeping on this mattress, I have no issues. However, I like to give it some time before I can fully comment as I've had mattresses in the past that were good in the first few months but gradually weren't so good. With that, so far it is a very comfortable mattress which forms neatly to your body's sleeping position and as you move around during your sleep. We picked a firm mattress as when we tried the softer version it felt like we would sink into it. So far, it does regain it's shape after getting out of bed, which is an important aspect. We replaced a previous mattress (it was okay for me) as my spouse said she was having back pains with the mattress. With this TEMPUR she's had no problems at all and she sleeps well now.. Jim. Mattress is comfortable and I am enjoying its firmness. It seems that when I sit down to go to bed the spot is not as firm as I remember in store when I sat on mattress. I am an atheltic/active preson but was having neck issues. I went to the Wayfair store and tested this pillow based on the sales persons suggestions on my needs, shoulder size and side sleeping.
