These beautiful chairs (in Vintage Tekwood) arrived carefully packaged and fully assembled. (The large carton is on the heavy side.) They chairs are light weight and stack easily, but they are very sturdily constructed. The chair seats are very comfortable as is and even more so with cushions -- the seats accommodate my existing cushions. The chair backs are a bit more upright than I had hoped, but they will be perfect for dining. If you are seeking chairs for reading / lounging, you might want something with a bit more slant or recline to the back. I also bought the 47" dining table (in Vintage Tekwood) to go with these chairs. The set was scheduled to be delivered on Monday, but arrived on Friday. I am a very happy customer. A very comfortable outdoor chair. I love the height of the back, especially because so many of the outdoor dining chairs were hitting my husband under his shoulder blades and he found them very uncomfortable. The assembly took two of us right around 15 or 20 minutes. The back and seat is a wood composite material and not metal which I was happy to discover. The only thing I don’t love about them is that the screw backs are visible on the seat back. The way I have them pleased. I don’t really see the seatbacks but honestly, it’s something that would bother me if I was looking at the seatbacks. It was pretty easy to put together but I struggled with the feet, 2 of them did not want to go in all the way.
