This toilet was mounted of an exterior wall. The plumber mounted the water supply coming out of the floor, 6" to the left of the drain. All the modern skirted toilets had a base of 12" or wider. Handsome cabinet at a good price, and fairly easy to assemble. One caveat, I followed the instructions exactly, but the interior shelves are finished on one edge and not the other. I ended up putting it together with the unfinished edge out. Since you pre assemble the pieces it's not apparent until the last step when you do the last assembly steps. I love all the features that it offers. you dont have to worry about the wind taking it sailing into the next county because it closes up so it doesnt have a chance to do that. make sure the base locks the poll in tight so when you get an up draft swirling around the outside of your house that it doesnt lift it straight out of the stand. you cant go wrong with the unbrella nice soft light for evening when lounging out. we have not had any issues with it at all..
