I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. Great product for protecting concrete. Be careful with how you want to apply this product. I used a plastic container and sprayer, and this sealer literally melted the plastic/ spraying wand. I had to buy stailess steel sprayer to apply this sealer. Also, use a very good quality gloves to avoid any skin rash. It would be great if the supplier supplied MSDS sheet and warning label to not to use any plastic sprayer. Product is excellent, easy to apply! This also reminds me of a past order (mostly furniture back then) where I had to return an item because it wasn't quite what I expected. We purchased outdoor light fixtures with a mounting base too small to cover the electrical box. These covers were perfect. The plastic layer is of very good quality and didn't scratch when the drill bit scraped against it. The plastic layer covers a metal plate that is stamped with holes (not through the plastic) that match the location of mounting screw holes on the electric box. You just need to drill the holes and supply mounting screws. I carefully mounted the base of the light fixture on the cover (measured and drilled the holes) then the cover on the wall.
